Alcaraz downs Tsitsipas to reach French Open semi-finals
Spanish sensation Carlos Alcaraz has defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets to reach the semi-finals of the French Open.
Alcaraz, the No. 6 seed, dominated the match from the start, winning 6-3, 7-6(3), 6-4 in two hours and 26 minutes.
The 19-year-old Spaniard will now face either Alexander Zverev or Holger Rune in the semi-finals.
Tsitsipas, the No. 4 seed, was the only player to have taken a set off Alcaraz in the tournament so far, but he was unable to repeat that feat in the quarter-finals.
Alcaraz has been in impressive form throughout the French Open, and he has now won all five of his matches in straight sets.
The Spaniard is now the favourite to win the tournament, and he will be hoping to become the youngest men's singles champion at the French Open since Rafael Nadal in 2005.
