An Air Force instructor pilot died Tuesday morning from injuries sustained after an ejection seat activated during ground operations Monday. The pilot was injured when the ejection seat of the trainer aircraft, a T-6A Texan II, released at about 2 pm. Monday at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas.
The pilot's injuries were severe, and the pilot succumbed to them Tuesday morning. The incident is under investigation, and the Air Force has not released the pilot's name.
